ELEVENTH POEM

POVERTY ON THE PROWL.
Thirsty throat.
Torn coat.
Empty stomach.
The definition of lack.
An epitome of scarcity.
Pity reigns in every city.
Prowl of poverty...
as demanding as puberty.
Desperate diseases.
Health hacked into pieces.
Sorrow sings with pride.
Her happiness she can't hide.
Joy has become a ghost...
tears can't help but boast.
The picture of a nation.
Pathetic from every indication.

NEXT POEM

AFRICAN SUFFERING NATIONS
Hearts are unfilled here
Lips don't smile here
Tears is always close here
Dreams don't go far here
Plans for better tomorrow don't work here
Only political thieves see brighter day here
No plans for the youths here
Life resemble hell here
The rate of Child Abuse is high here
And malnutrition is great here
Hunger and thirty claims lives here
Life is more shorter here
Here is a dungeon
Here is African suffering nations

THIRTEENTH POEM

BEING A NIGERIAN CAN'T BE WRONG.
With arguments so lame,
they discuss her shame.
With vigour that can't be tamed,
I talk of her fame.
With bias so plain,
they proclaim her pain.
With my strength well-drained,
I gist about her gorgeous gains.
Though I've done this for long,
I'll still sing for her a song
with an African tongue...
being a Nigerian can't be wrong.
A black nation;
beauty without caution.
Still in search of emancipation,
from an economic incarceration.
Though my country isn't perfect,
for her I still reserve great respect.
In me loyalty stands erect.
No wind of change can affect.

FOURTEENTH POEM

PATRIOTISM.
Love for my mother land flows in my blood
Unity in diversity unites people strong found
Difference in state dress food and in culture
Harmony among people peaceful in nature.

Tricolour flag flutters in every part of our land
Celebrations on independence state wide hold
India a country of democracy believe in so bold
Harmony among people power center
be sound.

Like one sky we stand together crisis of wartime
Peace we love enmity we abandon for
love chime
Patriotism in blood flow in every heart
like flood
Martyrs we remember pay respect in
our minds.

India our country stands for love truth and peace
Good relations we keep with affection
with trance
People with patriotic feelings deep in their hearts
Ready to become martyers to save us from tyrants

FIFTH POEM

NIGERIA IS AN ABATTOIR.
(FOR BENUE STATE)
The multiplicity of massacres-
metamorphosis of a carcass.
Blood like the waterfall...
agony apparently stands tall.

Swords sick with greed-
Covetousness of a special breed.
The ground has become a glutton-
her delicacy remains in the rotten.

Brutality brewed with bitterness.
Guns and bombs suffer from restlessness.
Vengeance with eyes really blind.
Conscience has been left behind.

Nigeria is an open sore...
the pains can only be more.
I envisage a scary scar.
Healing's domicile seems so far.

Tears trail the national flag.
The picture of a drenched rag.
Our leaders on a killing spree...
burial ceremonies are now for free.
